The Arakan Army captured six Bangladeshis along with the trawler

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Myanmar’s armed rebel organization Arakan Army captured six people along with two trawlers on their way to St. Martin with construction material rods and cement from Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar. Among them, 5 Bangladeshis and 1 Rohingya are said to be.

They are Faizu, Mostak Majhi, Abdur Rahman Majhi, Noor Alam, Imran, and another Rohingya resident of St. Martin East.

On Wednesday (November 13), the president of the Saint Martin Boat Owners Association, Abdur Rashid, said that on Tuesday, the Arakan Army captured them from the mouth of the Naf River on the way from Teknaf to Saint Martin with various goods, including rod-cement. But they have not been returned till the last news. The family members sought the help of the government to bring them back.

Saint Martin Union Parishad Chairman Mujibur Rahman said, I am not in the area. So I can’t say anything.

In this regard, Coast Guard Media Officer Lt. Commander Khandaker Munif Taqi said, “We have not received any such information yet. However, the matter is being investigated.

It is to be noted that recently there has been an increase in the kidnapping of Bangladeshi sailors from the Naf river area, which has caused panic among boat owners and related parties.
