Laksam Correspondent: Two murders took place in separate places in Comilla’s Laksam in one day. Two murders took place at separate places in Comilla’s Laksam in a single day. The deceased are Shaheed Ullah Saru and Md. Mokhlesur Rahman.
Sunday (October 27) at 11 p.m. in Mishri village of Laksam municipality. A person named Mokhlesur Rahman (58) was beaten to death.
Local people said that Sujan (30), a hawker of the same village, and Mokhleshur Rahman, a tenant of BDR Manik’s house, had an argument. At one point, Sujan beat him severely and seriously injured him. Mokhlesur Rahman was immediately taken to Laksam Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
It is known that the deceased Mohlesur Rahman’s house is in Sylhet. He lived on rent in BDR Manik’s house in that village.
On the same day, at ten in the morning, an old man named Shahidullah Saru (65) was killed after cutting soil from the land due to a land dispute in Amuda village of Kandirpar union of the upazila.
Laksam police station OC Nazneen Sultana said that two people have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident of the old man’s death in Amuda village. An operation is underway to arrest those involved in the death of Mokhlesur Rahman in Mishri village at night. The body was recovered. It will be sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue in the morning for post-mortem. And the case is being prepared.
