The Crime Desk: Newly appointed Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait Major General Syed Tarek Hossain (OSP, AWLOC, PSC) presented credentials to Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Al Bayan Palace, Kuwait. Then there was a courtesy call between them.
Ambassador Tarek Hossain warmly congratulated Amir on behalf of the President and Chief Adviser of Bangladesh in the meeting after presenting the identity card. During the meeting, the ambassador mentioned that Kuwait was the first Gulf country to recognize Bangladesh after independence. He also recalled the historic contribution of Kuwait in gaining membership in the OIC in 1974 for Bangladesh.
The ambassador also mentioned that since the beginning of diplomatic relations, Bangladesh and Kuwait have been enjoying excellent bilateral relations in various fields, including political, economic, trade and investment, manpower, and defense. The Ambassador also highlighted the potential for employment of skilled and professional manpower from Bangladesh in Kuwait. The ambassador also expressed his determination to work hard to take the brotherly relations between Bangladesh and Kuwait to new heights.
The Emir of Kuwait accepted the ambassador’s credentials as a symbol of friendship between the two countries. In his speech, he recalled the contribution of the Bangladesh Army in achieving the independence of Kuwait and post-independence mine clearance and reconstruction of the country. Amir mentioned that Kuwait considers Bangladesh as a very close brotherly country.
He also said that Bangladeshi expatriates are making a significant contribution to the current development of Kuwait. Kuwait is keen to work with Bangladesh on future projects that will benefit both Bangladesh and the Gulf region.
