Incidentally, the outbreak of dengue disease in Bangladesh began in 2000. From 2000 to 2022, two lakh 44 thousand 246 people were infected with dengue. 853 people died during this time. Bangladesh saw the worst period of dengue in the history of the country last year. One thousand and 705 people lost their lives in 2023, along with one hundred and three lakh people admitted to hospitals.
Although the outbreak of dengue was not so much at the beginning of this year, the dengue situation has been getting worse for a few days. Compared to last August, the number of dengue deaths and infected patients has doubled this September. From the end of August, the pressure of dengue patients in the hospitals gradually increased. The situation worsens by the second week of September. Every day, hundreds of people are hospitalized with dengue infection. The death toll is increasing day by day.
