Maheshkhali Correspondent: A 4-year-old child named Waheed Hasan Rayyan died after drowning in Matarbari of Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
The incident took place at 3 p.m. on Sunday (September 22) in the Magdale area of Ward No. 8 of Matarbari Union. The deceased child, Waheed Hasan Rayyan, is the son of Shafiul Alam and Mashrafa of the Mogdail area.
According to family and local sources, the child’s mother was busy with housework. At that time he was playing outside. After a while, the family started searching around without seeing the child. Later, the body of the child was found floating in the Bangaghona fish project near the house by the project workers.
He was rescued from there and taken to the local doctor, who declared him dead.
Matarbari Union Parishad Chairman SM Abu Haider said that we have received the news of the child’s death. While playing near the house, he fell into the canal and died. This is painful.
