Actress Sarika’s case against her husband

Entertainment Desk: A case has been filed against husband GS Badruddin Ahmed (Rahi) accusing television actress and model Sarika Sabreen of beating her and demanding dowry.

The actress filed a case in Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farah Diba Chandar’s court on Monday (November 28). The court took cognizance of the case and issued an arrest warrant against the accused Badruddin Ahmed (Rahi). The court fixed December 21 as the date for submitting the Tamil report related to the arrest warrant. Sarika’s lawyer Masudur Rahman Masud confirmed the matter.

According to the affidavit of this case, Sarika and Badrul got married in the family on February 2. A dowry of Tk 20 lakh is levied at the wedding. At the time of marriage, Sarika’s parents gifted Asami Badruddin with gold ornaments worth Tk 25 lakh and all the furniture of the house.

Soon after the marriage, the accused Badruddin demanded Tk 50 lakh from the plaintiff Sarika’s family and started beating her. On November 5, the accused Badruddin asked the victim Sarika to bring Tk 50 lakh as dowry money. For non-payment of dowry, Sarika was sent to her father’s house with a handful of her hair.

It is also mentioned that an arbitration meeting was held in this regard on November 19 in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. At one point of the conversation in the meeting, the accused said that he would have to pay Rs 50 lakh for the business. He said that he will not marry Sarika and divorce her if he does not pay the demanded money.
