The Crime Desk: Public Administration Ministry Deputy Secretary Nurul Karim Bhuiyan has given an ultimatum to cancel the notification of 59 DC by 5 pm. He is the coordinator of the deputy commissioner aspirants for the deprived during the Awami League regime.

He informed me about this ultimatum after meeting with Senior Secretary of Ministry of Public Administration Mokhles Ur Rahman at the Secretariat on Wednesday (September 11).

Nurul Karim Bhuiyan said that the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration has assured to cancel these two notifications. At the same time, he said that he would talk to the chief advisor about this. Surely you will get a new decision. Our demand was that they should implement this decision by 5 p.m. today.

The deputy secretary expressed his anger and said that we have complaints and objections against many of the 59 DCs who have been appointed. These officers were benefited and blessed in various ways during the previous government. You have given the information that they are involved in murder, killing, and robbery through the media. As it is a complex process, he has assured us that he will cancel these two notifications as soon as possible after talking to the principal adviser.

Our demand was that those officials should be dismissed by today. This was our main demand,” he added.

This officer said all our officers who went there today are talented, qualified, and honest. Since the main goal of the anti-quota movement was to recruit talented people, we also want talented leadership to be established.

Earlier, the government had canceled the appointment of eight Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in the face of protests and demands from the deprived. Among the 59 District Commissioners (DCs) appointed in two phases, eight DCs were canceled: Laxmipur, Jaipurhat, Kushtia, Rajshahi, Shariatpur, Sirajganj, Rajbari, and Dinajpur.

Public Administration Ministry Senior Secretary Mokhles Ur Rahman said this to the reporters of his office at the Secretariat on Wednesday (September 11).

He said that the fitlist is made through a selection committee. That committee sat today. In the immediate review, the appointment of eight people has been cancelled.
