Correspondent: A fire broke out in the BigBos garment factory in Bhabanipur area under Kashimpur police station in Gazipur. The fire has been burning for about four hours. The fire service personnel went to the spot to extinguish the fire but could not start the work.
Eyewitnesses said that on Wednesday (September 11) morning, the workers of that factory started protesting to demand the outstanding salary. A fire broke out in the factory around 11:30 pm. However, no one could say for sure how the fire started or whether someone had started the fire or not.
Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service, said, “Two of their units went to the spot after receiving the news of the fire at the Bigboss factory. But when the angry workers vandalized a car, the workers returned.
He said that the assistance of the army has been sought. With their cooperation, fire control work will be started.
