Case against 112 people, including former state minister Nazrul

Chandanish Representative: Former Minister of State for Labor and Employment. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, former upazila chairman of Chandanish Abdul Jabbar Chowdhury, and 87 people were named in a case filed in Chandanish police station. In this case, 20/25 more people are named as unknown accused.

In 2018, a man named Mohammad Alamgir filed the case as a plaintiff in the shootings at polling stations during the national elections. The plaintiff in the suit, Alamgir, is the son of deceased Abdul Jabbar of Madhya Chandanish, Chandanish Municipality, and is the vice president of the Chandanish Municipal Democratic Labor Party.

According to the complaint of the case, the defendants conspired to detonate cocktails by exploding the votes at the polling station of Chandnaish Municipal Ideal School on December 30, 2018, before the polling of the national elections at 1 am. At that time, when the locals, including Alamgir, the plaintiff in the case, came forward to obstruct the accused, at least 16 villagers were shot dead. In this incident, Mohammad Alamgir became the plaintiff. Former Minister of Labor and Employment Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, his brother Jasim Uddin Chowdhury Montu, former Upazila Chairman Abdul Jabbar Chowdhury, his brother Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, Chandnaish Municipality Mayor Mu. Mahabubul Alam Khoka, General Secretary of Chandanish Upazila Awami League Abu Ahmad Junu Chowdhury, Upazila Jubo League Joint Convener ASM Mucha Tchalim, Joara UP Chairman Amin Ahmed Chowdhury Rokon, South District Chhatra League Leader Tanvirul Islam Chowdhury, and Upazila Sramik League President Aftab Mahmud Shimul mentioned the names of 87 people. Filed a case. Another 20/25 people are named as unnamed accused in the case. The plaintiff also mentioned in the case that the filing of the case was delayed due to political situation and lack of security.

Chandanish Police Station OC (Investigation) Yujutsu Yash Chakma confirmed to the reporters that a case has been filed in Chandanish Police Station in this regard.
