Mirsarai Correspondent: A freight train coach (603) of Eastern Railway derailed at Mirsarai. The accident took place on September 10 (Tuesday) around 12:30 PM in Bariyarhat Municipal area of the upazila.
However, there were no casualties. Off-line (Dhaka bound) train movement is stopped. Train movement on the downline is normal.
It has been found that four wheels of the carriage of a freight train (603) leaving from Chittagong derailed when it reached Baryarhat Bazar area. Due to the skill of the train driver and conductor, the train stopped at the Baryarhat area.
Sirajul Islam, an official of Chinki Astana railway station, said that four wheels of the container train that left Chittagong for Dhaka at around 12:30 pm on Tuesday derailed. We have informed the Chittagong control room. A relief train is coming from Chittagong to rescue it. However, even if there is an off-line block, the down line is active.
