The Crime Desk: Mizanur Rahman Mizan (37), convenor of the Sadar Upazila Volunteer Party, was hacked to death due to dominance and previous disputes in Bogra. At this time, a person named Ledu (35) was killed in an attack by Mizan’s supporters.
This pair of murders took place in the Gokul Bazar area of Sadar Upazila around 9 p.m. on Monday. Sadar police station OC Saihan Oliullah and Lihimpur medical police outpost in-charge inspector Miladunnabi confirmed this information.
Local residents and the relatives of the deceased Mizan claim that the expelled president of the Gokul Union, Juba Dal, has carried out the attack.
According to the police and locals, the deceased Mizanur Rahman is the son of Afsar Ali Sakidar of Gokul area of Mizan Bogra Sadar. He was accused in several cases, including weapons. Vipul, the expelled youth leader of the same area, has been in conflict with him for a long time. A few days ago, a murder took place due to a dispute between two parties.
Mizanur Rahman was sitting in the office of former UP Chairman Sabuj in the Mizan Gokul area during the load shedding on Monday night. At that time, a group of 8/10 miscreants armed with various indigenous weapons on motorcycles entered the office and hacked Mizan and left. Mizan was rescued and taken to Bogra Shajimek Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.
At that time, the people of Mizan’s side beat and stabbed one of the opponents, named Ledu, on suspicion of being involved in the murder. The police rescued him and sent him to the same hospital. There, people from Mizan’s side beat him again. Later, Ledu died at around 11 p.m. while undergoing treatment.
Locals also said that the deceased Ledu was of a large group. He is the son of Bulu Mia of the same area.
Bogra district volunteer party member secretary Abu Hasan said that Mizanur Rahman Mizan was the life of his organization. Everyone knows that the expelled Yuba Dal president Vipul had a dispute with him. According to him (Abu Hasan), Mizan was killed because of that dispute. Besides, one person named Ledu was killed in the beating of the opponent.
Saihan Oliullah, OC of Sadar police station, said that their operation is underway to identify and arrest the killers.
