The Crime Desk: Preliminary registration for the 2025 Hajj has begun. This registration process is going on through both public and private channels. This registration will continue till November 30. The Ministry of Religion said that the initial registration period will not be extended after the scheduled time.
It is known that this year also 1 lakh 27 thousand 198 people can perform the holy Hajj. The Saudi government has already announced this quota for Bangladesh. When this quota is filled, the initial registration process will automatically close. The pre-registration fee for both government and private channels is Tk 30 thousand. Any previous or new pre-registered person can do initial registration by depositing Tk 3 lakh. The remaining amount of the Hajj package price must be paid within the time specified in the package. Initial registration money can be deposited through a voucher at any branch of Sonali Bank. Hajj pilgrims through private means have to deposit the initial registration amount at the designated bank of the agency.
According to the Ministry of Religion notification, the price of this year’s Hajj package will be announced subject to the determination of the cost and airfare of the Saudi phase. However, efforts will be made to reduce the general Hajj package price of 2025 compared to last year. A normal package will have a maximum of six seats in a room in a house or hotel. But package upgrade facilities will be available. Hajj agencies can send pilgrims with special package facilities. A list of Hajj agencies can be found at www.hajj.gov.bd. People intending to go for Hajj through the government should deposit money in favor of account number 0002633000908 as Cell Proceeds of Hajj Deposit of Sonali Bank PLC, Local Office Branch, Motijheel Dhaka. Last August 26, the notification of the Ministry of Religion informed that the registration of pilgrims who wish to go to Hajj in 2025 will start from September 1. A pre-registration certificate and passport will be required at the time of initial registration.
From the e-Hajj system (www.hajj.gov.bd) and the e-Hajj BD mobile app, people intending to go for Haj through government channels can pre-register from all Union Digital Centers, Islamic Foundation Divisional and District Offices, Baitul Mukarram Mosque, and Ashkona Haj Office in Dhaka. Registration and initial registration can be done.
