Press Release: The Chittagong Press Club was freed from fascism on August 5, 2024, at the moment of the student revolution. A clique called Journalists has the audacity to call this revolutionary role of the students a terrorist act.
Recently, in a press release sent to the pad of the Chittagong Press Club in the media, the student revolution has been mentioned as a terrorist activity. In fact, the circle has indulged in this depravity to protect journalists who are the instigators of genocide from trial, to hide various misdeeds of media-related fascist allies, and to protect the money looted with the help of the fallen fascist government.
On August 5, the Chittagong Press Club was freed from fascism. Later, the friends of fascism used various methods to take root there again. They tried to maintain their occupation in the press club by attacking in stages. Which resists student mobs and journalists fighting against fascism. As in the past, various programs against fascism were attacked by the press club. The courage to attack the human chain organized on August 14 to demand justice for the instigators of the genocide was shown.
The cronies of fascism and direct supporters of attacks and killings of student mobs are using various tricks and misleading propaganda to derail the ongoing efforts to rescue the club from the hands of the donors. Using the signboards of sensitive institutions like clubs and the media, the delirium has now begun to absolve itself of the crimes committed as collaborators in the fascist regime of the past 15 years. Their faces will be exposed only if the illegal assets and bank accounts of these herds of the fascist government’s allied media are brought under investigation by the ACC.
To hide these things, as in the past, they continue to practice yellow journalism and try to question the revolutionary position of the students. As part of which, a press release on August 26 dared to refer to the student revolution as a terrorist activity.
Through the use of press clubs and media signboards, this cycle continues to seek impunity for the crimes committed as accomplices of the fascist regime over the past 15 years. The gang has played a nefarious role in dissidents as well as undermining the previous government in the guise of journalists. In 2013, under their leadership, Dainik Amar Desh, Dainik Naya Digant, Digant Television, Dainik Sangram, and Dainik Karnaphuli offices were vandalized in Chittagong. The last fall has tarnished the great profession of journalism by inciting student-genocide as an accomplice of fascism.
We think that they can never escape from the trial of this crime. They have no place in institutions and organizations like mass media and press clubs. Our call to the current government formed through the bloodbath revolution of the students: let the great profession like journalism be freed from stigma by bringing the known friends of fascism called journalists under justice. At the same time, the mountain of wealth they have built up with the help of fascism should be immediately recovered and deposited in the state treasury.
