City Reporter: A case has been filed in Kotwali Police Station regarding the attack of hundreds of thousands of people, looting of weapons, vandalism, and arson on August 5.
Inspector (Investigation) of Kotwali Police Station Ripon Kumar Das filed the case as the plaintiff last Friday (August 23) afternoon.
In this case, it has been mentioned that the miscreants have caused huge damage by attacking, looting, and setting fire to the police station. 30–40 thousand unknown people have been accused.
During the attack, police station furniture was looted, vehicles were vandalized, police station was set on fire, and large quantities of arms and ammunition were looted. The damage is about 83 million rupees.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Obaidul Haque said that regular cases have been filed against the attackers under various sections of the Penal Code Act of 1860, Section 3/6 of the Explosives Act of 1908, and Section 15(3)/25-D of the Special Powers Act of 1974.
