Nagar Reporter: Another murder case has been registered in Chittagong against 108 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in connection with the death of Chhatra Dal leader Wasim Akram in the firing during the anti-discrimination student movement.

Panchlaish police station OC Santosh Kumar Chakma confirmed the matter on Monday (August 19). Wasim Akram’s mother, Josna Begum, filed the case at Panchlaish Police Station on Wednesday night.

Apart from Sheikh Hasina, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, Chittagong’s former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud, former education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel, former city mayor and general secretary of Chittagong city Awami League AJM Nashir Uddin, city mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, and former Member of Parliament Mohiuddin Bachchu are mentioned.

Apart from this, there are names of former central leader of Jubo League Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar, general secretary of Nagar Chhatra League Zakaria Dastgir, former general secretary Nurul Azim Roni, 14 ward councilors of different wards of the city, and 108 people.

It is mentioned in the statement of the case that on July 16, Wasim Akram was standing in front of the Barcode restaurant to participate in the student gathering. At that time, with the direct and indirect ‘fuel’ of the accused, the cadres of the Awami League, Jubo League, Swachhasebak League, and Chhatra League attacked the rally with weapons, batons, and bomb blasts. Wasim was shot.

Chittagong Metropolitan BNP claimed Wasim Akram as their worker after his death. They were the joint convenors of the deceased Wasim Chittagong College Chhatra Dal.
