City Reporter: 700 BNP- Jamaat leaders and activists, including students arrested in the case of clashes and killings of students with the Chhatra League, Jubo League, and police in Chittagong during the quota reform movement, have been released on bail.
They were released from Chittagong Central Jail on Tuesday (August 6) night.
Senior Jail Superintendent Muhammad Manjur Hossain said that 700 prisoners have been released after checking the bail from the court.
Earlier on Friday (August 2), the court granted bail to 16 HSC examinees arrested in the case of clashes and vandalism in the anti-discrimination student movement.
Among them, Chittagong Chief Metropolitan Court granted bail to 3 people from the city and 13 from the district by Chittagong Metropolitan Court.
