2 killed in a three-way clash in Munshiganj

Munshiganj Correspondent: Two people were killed and at least 50 were injured in a clash between the police, Awami League and Chhatra League leaders, and activists with non-cooperation protestors over a one-point demand called by the anti-discrimination student movement in Munshiganj.

The incident took place in the supermarket area of the district city around 11 a.m. on Sunday (August 4). The names of the victims were not immediately available.

Munshiganj General Hospital supervisor Abu Hena Mohammad Jamal confirmed the matter and said that 7 people were brought to the hospital with bullet wounds. Two people were declared dead after observation.

Munshiganj Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Thandar Khairul Hasan told the media that the clash between the two sides has started since morning. Police are trying to pacify both sides. However, the two sides are at odds.

When asked about the casualties in the clash, he said that the matter should be known from the hospital.
