Nagar Reporter: A Bahamian woman named Stila Santai was arrested at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport with at least 4 kg of cocaine worth around Tk 50 crore. The approximately 30-year-old woman came to Bangladesh from Brazil via Dubai on July 13. Although he entered the country two days ago, he was caught yesterday with cocaine by the law enforcement agencies while bringing a piece of luggage that came under baggage rules. Last night’s news revealed that law enforcement is investigating who the woman came to Bangladesh with, who she communicated with, or for whom she delivered the cocaine shipment.
According to airport sources, the Bahamian woman arrived in Dubai on an Emirates Airlines flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil, on July 12. From there, he arrived at Shah Amanat International Airport on July 13 on a Transit Fly Dubai flight. But as his baggage did not arrive that day, he stayed at a hotel in Chittagong.
He was challenged by law enforcers before he left the airport with his luggage on Monday morning. After searching his luggage, 3 kg and 900 grams of cocaine were recovered inside the UPS in a special manner. This cocaine is well wrapped and coiled with copper wire. So the first look seems to be the device inside the UPS. The raiding party recovered the consignment of cocaine from inside the wire casing. Airport sources said that the market value of recovered cocaine is around Tk 50 crore.
