The Crime Desk: Sajidul Hasan Fahad (24), general secretary of the Chhatra League of Newmarket Police Station, was injured in front of Dhaka University’s Shahidullah Hall. He is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
He was injured in the firing incident in front of Dhaka University Shahidullah Hall around Monday (July 15) evening. Fahad himself claimed that he was shot at.
He said he is the General Secretary of the Newmarket Thana Chhatra League. News came to them that the anti-quota activists were beating up the Chhatra League in front of Shahidullah Hall. In view of this news, under the leadership of the Mahanagar Chhatra League, when they reached in front of Shahidullah Hall, they threw their bricks from there.
At one point, a young man standing at a distance took out a pistol from his waist and shot at him. The bullet entered his left thigh and exited the other side.
Fahad is currently under treatment in ward number 101 of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Doctors mentioned a gunshot injury in his medical record.
