The district administration took control of Benazir’s 25 acres of land in Bandarban

Bandarban Correspondent: The case against former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed and his family has been going on for a long time for allegedly acquiring huge illegal wealth, including land and road encroachment. On the orders of the court, the district administration has taken control of 25 acres of 3rd-class land in Bandarban’s Swalak Union in their name.

On Thursday, July 4, Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban Shah Mojahid Uddin and a team led by him visited the land of Benazir Ahmed and his family of Sualak Union, and after inspecting various assets of Benazir’s family, 25 acres of land could be sold, transferred, or exchanged without court order. By issuing a special notification, they put up signboards.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Shah Mojahid Uddin told reporters that the receiver of this land has been appointed as of today, and an 8-member committee has been formed under the convening of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), SM Manjurul Haque, and this committee will from now on oversee the entire matter in addition to all income being presented to court through ACC as expenditure.

Additional District Commissioner (Revenue) SM Manjurul Haque, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Habiba Meera, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department Bandarban MM Shahneyaz, District Fisheries Officer Abhijit Sheel, Divisional Forest Officer Md Abdur Rahman, along with district administration, upazila administration, and media personnel, and during this time local residents were present.
