Dhaka Bureau: Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali has commented that he cannot find any reason for the movement of teachers over the certification scheme. He said this to reporters after a courtesy meeting with Yangming Yong, Vice President of South, Central, and West Asia of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), at the Finance Minister’s office in the Ministry of Planning on Tuesday.

The finance minister said that the movement of university teachers demanding the cancellation of the universal pension guarantee scheme is unreasonable. I can’t find any rationale for the teachers’ agitation against the certification scheme.

Meanwhile, public university teachers, officers, and employees have announced they will continue the all-out strike by refusing to join the Pratyaya universal pension scheme. Universities have come to a standstill due to the indefinite strike that began on Monday. Classes, from examinations to administrative activities, are closed in the movement.

Yesterday, the second day, teachers and staff participated in the strike program. From there, it is clarified that no verification scheme will be accepted. If necessary, the movement will become stricter and stricter. They claim that this scheme is discriminatory. So that university teachers will suffer financially.
