Dhaka Bureau: Subal Kumar Roy used to travel to the house of Samsuddoha Khan Majlis, a former Member of Parliament (MP) of Savar, due to a long-standing relationship. At one point, Subal got involved in an extramarital affair with Majlish’s eldest daughter, Shamima Khan Majlish, alias Poppy. When the incident came to light, Popi’s mother, Selima Khan Majlish, stopped the accused Subal from visiting that house.
Even then Subal and Poppy had a secret relationship. Selima Khan Majlish started screaming when she saw Subal one morning. Later, with the help of Poppy, Selimar stabbed Subal in the throat. Later, an electric shock was given to the victim’s head to ensure death. Selima died after staying in the hospital for four days in a coma.
After 13 long years, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) solved the mystery of the murder. Additional IGP Banaj Kumar Majumder, head of the investigation agency, gave this information in a press conference organized at the Dhanmondi PBI headquarters in the capital on Tuesday morning.
