7 members of Jamaat, including lawyers, are in Bandarban jail

Bandarban Correspondent: Seven active members arrested for a secret meeting of the Jamaat camp in Bandarban have been sent to jail. Police Bandarban Chief Judicial Magistrate Judge Md. Nurul Haque brought the arrested to the court. The court heard the complaint and ordered them to be sent to jail.

The accused are: active members of Jamaat Islam Bandarban, Md. Imranul Haque (30), Md. Mahfuzur Rahman (46), Nurul Abshar (28), Yunus Mia (29), Md. Ashraful Islam (30), lawyer Md. Shahnewaz Chowdhury (36), and Humayun Kabir (37). Bandarban Chief Judicial Magistrate Court GRO Biswajit Singh confirmed the matter.

According to the source of the case, Bandarban District Detective Police (DB) conducted anti-terror, law and order, and anti-militancy operations in the Bandarban Sadar joint farm area based on secret information.

At that time, each of them had various text messages and video-audio messages related to anti-state activities on their mobile phones, and based on the information given by them, a book called “Rasullah (S.A.) Life of Makkah,” written by Matiur Rahman Nizami from Hotel Niladri, and “Islami,” written by Khurram Jah Murad, A book called “Interrelationship between Movement Workers,”  a book called Personal Report of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (Workers), a book called Members (Rukon) Candidates, a magazine called Prerna, a unique example of protecting the dignity of the Quran, a magazine called Sramik Barta, a monthly called Prerna. A magazine, all-party student unity necessary for a successful movement, along with other writings, books, and 50 leaflets titled “Overthrow Awami Sarkar” in Bandarban Upazila-Municipality in 2024 A mass communication report, lecture sheet titled Mission of Dawat Mumin Life, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami associate member form, and leaflets published by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami were recovered.
