Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Miscreants hacked and stabbed a Rohingya youth to death in Balukhali Camp No. 8 of Ukhia Upazila in Cox’s Bazar. He was killed in the D-76 block of the camp yesterday (June 27) in the early hours of the day. On Friday (June 28), the officer-in-charge (OC) of the Ukhia police station said. Shamim Hossain. OC Shamim Hossain said about the locals yesterday night. Salek was returning home. At that time, 3–4 miscreants wearing burqas stopped his movement. Later, they hit Salek on the head with sharp weapons. At the same time, he was stabbed in different parts of his body and ran away. Locals rescued Salek in critical condition and took him to Kutupalong MSF Hospital. The doctor sent him to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital as his condition was serious. He died on the way to the hospital.
Shamim Hossain also said that it was not confirmed who or what caused the murder. Initially, the police believe that the killing may be due to the spread of dominance among the active terrorist groups in the Rohingya camps. The body of the deceased has been kept in the mortuary of Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem.
