Bandarban Correspondent: A member of the armed outfit Kuki Chin National Front (KNF) was killed in an operation by joint forces in Thanchi, Bandarban. Meanwhile, one more member of the KNF has been arrested.
Firearms and ammunition were recovered from the spot. This incident took place in the Chingsong Para area of the Remakri Union of Thanchi Upazila on Wednesday morning.
According to the law and order forces, members of the Kuki Chin National Front (KNF), an armed organization of the hills, took up positions in the Chingsong neighborhood of Tajingdong Pahar Chura area of the Remakri Union of Thanchi Upazila.
On receiving information, a team of joint forces went to the spot on Wednesday morning and opened fire on the law enforcement personnel. Meanwhile, there was a long stoppage of firing between both sides. Meanwhile, a KNF terrorist was killed by law-and-order forces.
One more armed member of the KNF was arrested on the spot. Law-and-order forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the scene.
However, the name of the killed and arrested KNF member was not found as the incident was in a remote area.
Confirming the incident, Bandarban Additional Superintendent of Police Raihan Kazemi said that one KNF member was killed in the operation of the joint forces. The body is being recovered and brought to Bandarban Sadar Hospital. One more member of KNF has been arrested in this incident. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot.
