Hathazari Correspondent: In Hathazari, the houses of two families were burned to ashes. The families have become completely destitute. It is said that a rickshaw driver was also injured in this incident. On Wednesday morning (June 26), the Hathajari Fire Service authorities confirmed the truth of the fire incident. Before this, the fire incident took place at the house of Nana Thakur of Ward No. 3 of Mirzapur Union No. 3 of the upazila at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
It is known that on the day of the incident, when the fire broke out while connecting the gas cylinder to the stove in a rickshaw at that house, the flames spread around in a moment. At that time, the locals came forward and tried to control the fire but failed and informed the fire service.
However, before the Hathajari fire service reached the spot, cultural workers Aurobindo Chakraborty, Anjan Chakraborty, Ashish Chakraborty, and Kanchan Chakraborty, who lived in a semi-paved house with eight rooms and all the goods kept in the house, including the kitchen, were burned. Later, with the joint efforts of local residents and the fire service, it was possible to save some houses from the fire. The victims said that there has been a loss of at least 18–20 lakh rupees in this incident.
The chairman of the concerned Union, Parishad Akhtar Hossain Khan Sumon, confirmed the truth of the fire incident and said that arrangements are being made to help the victims.
Abdul Mannan, Senior Station Officer of Hathajari Fire Service, said on Wednesday morning that the firemen managed to bring the fire under control with the help of the locals, led by Warehouse Inspector Mahfuz Riben.
