Bandarban Correspondent: Three members of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), a mountain armed group arrested in a joint operation in Bandarban’s Ruma, have been sent to jail. Police produced the accused in the court of Bandarban Chief Judicial Magistrate Syeda Suraiya Akhtar on Saturday afternoon. The court heard the complaint and ordered the accused to be sent to jail. The accused are Gadgalri Bum (31), Sang Khum Bum (38), and Zephaniah Bum (19). They are residents of the Happy Hill neighborhood of Paindu Union in Ruma Upazila.
Confirming the truth of the incident, Sub-Inspector of Police of Bandarban Chief Judicial Court Priyal Palit said that three accused were brought before the court in the cases of bank robbery, mosque attack, and weapons robbery in Ruma. Later, they were sent to jail on the orders of the judge.
Incidentally, on the night of April 2, there was an attack on the Ruma branch of Sonali Bank, the looting of weapons by the police-Ansar, and on April 3, in the afternoon of Sonali Bank and Krishi Bank of Thanchi upazila, there was a robbery, an attack, and the looting of money. A total of 22 cases, including 14 in Ruma Police Station, 4 in Thanchi Police Station, 1 in Bandarban Sadar Police Station, and 3 in Rowangchari Police Station, were registered in this incident. In these cases, 108 people have been arrested and sent to jail on the orders of the court for their involvement with the KNF in the operation of the joint forces.
