Own Correspondent: In Lohagara Upazila, five people were injured in a head-on collision between a private car heading towards Chittagong city and a CNG-driven autorickshaw coming back.
The two vehicles collided on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in the Bar Auliya College Gate area of the upazila on Saturday, June 22, at around 8:30 a.m. The injured are CNG-driven autorickshaw drivers Russell (22), Halima Akhtar (60) of Padua Thakur Dighi area, Mobarak Ali (45) of Padua Mali para, Parimal Acharya (12) of Chayed Pukur area of Satkania Upazila, and Brahmanpad Acharya of the same area. The injured are said to be passengers in a CNG-powered autorickshaw.
After the incident, the injured were taken to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex for treatment. After first aid, Russell and Halima Akhtar were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. The accident-prone private car and the CNG-powered autorickshaw have been taken into the custody of the Dohazari Highway Police, said the official on duty.
