The Crime Desk: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the trawlers or patrol boats of Bangladesh fishermen have been shot at once or twice due to the civil war in neighboring Myanmar. He said this while talking to reporters in his office at the Secretariat on Wednesday (June 12).

Firing from Myanmar is en route from Teknaf to Saint Martin. When asked about this, the minister said, ‘The Arakan Army is fighting with the Myanmar government. The war has been going on for quite some time. We have seen many places in Arakan occupied by them. Now the war is going on in the lower part of our Naf River.

He said that when the war is going on, it is difficult to understand whose bullets are coming at what time. Once or twice, our fishermen’s trawler or our patrol boat also got shot. Who shot? We are not sure yet. I contacted them (the Myanmar authorities), but they also couldn’t confirm anything. Myanmar has denied that it fired, but it did.

At that time, the minister claimed that there was no problem with the supply of goods to St. Martin.
