Dhaka Bureau: Member of Parliament for Jhenaidah-4 Constituency Anwarul Azim Anna’s daughter, Mumtarin Ferdous Doreen, and her brother have been called to Kolkata to confirm the body. About four kg of meat was recovered from the septic tank of the toilet in that flat in Sanjeeva Town, Newtown, Kolkata. This time, his daughter Doreen has been called to Kolkata to confirm whether these dismembered meats are MP Anar’s body parts or not. MP Anar’s brother is going with him.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) Intelligence Branch Chief Harun Or Rashid said this on Tuesday (May 28) night. Currently, a three-member intelligence team from Bangladesh under his leadership is stationed in Kolkata.
DB Pradhan said that it is not possible to identify the body at the earliest without bringing someone from MP Anar’s family to Kolkata. So his daughter, Doreen, has already been informed. Hopefully, Doreen and MP’s brother can come to Calcutta in a day or two.
He said that the recovered meat will be taken to the forensic lab to see if it belongs to the MP. Pieces of meat are preserved. The next step is to send it to a forensic lab and undergo DNA testing. Only then can it be confirmed whether it is MP Anar’s body or not.
Harun and Rashid said, according to the information received from the killer, we are going to different places in Kolkata. He also said that, even according to the statement of the captive, the rescue operation will continue in the canal.
The DB chief also said that if a case is to be filed, circumstantial evidence is required, not the whole body, but some fragmented parts are required. Therefore, on our request, CID searched the septic tank and recovered some meat. The hair was recovered along with the flesh.
On May 12, MP Anwarul Azim Anar went to India from Kaliganj in Jhenaidah through the Darshanar Gede border in Chuadanga for treatment. He stayed at the house of a friend named Gopal Biswas on Mandalpara Lane of the Barahnagar police station in West Bengal. The next day, he left the house, saying to see the doctor. After that, he disappeared.
