Presidential parade held at Bangladesh Air Force Academy

President’s Parade (Winter)-2022 was held today Thursday (November 24) on the occasion of receiving the commission of Bangladesh Air Force’s 81st BAFA Course and Direct Entry-2022 Course at Biman Bahini Academy Parade Ground in Jessore.
Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the parade as the chief guest and took salute. Hon’ble Prime Minister arrived at the parade ground of the Air Force Academy and was welcomed by Air Chief Marshal Sheikh Abdul Hannan. Hon’ble Prime Minister distributed flying badges and various trophies among the graduating officers. Also 4 naval officers and 2 air force officers were awarded flying badges on completion of basic flying training.

Officer Cadet Khandaker Imamur Rahman ‘Sword of Honour’ for best meritorious achievement in 81st BAFA Course, Officer Cadet Abrar Fayyaz Khan ‘Bir Shrestha Matiur Rahman Trophy’ for best achievement in Flying Training and Officer Cadet Khandaker Imamur Rahman ‘Commandants Trophy’ for best achievement in General Service Training gain Officer Cadet Nazre Md Hasan received the ‘Chief of the Air Force Trophy’ for the best achievement in the 81st BAFA Course (Ground Branch).

The chief guest of the program, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, started her speech by paying deep respect to the greatest Bengali father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He paid tribute to the great martyr Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman and all the members of the armed forces and air force who were martyred in the great liberation war, due to whose sacrifice we have got independent Bangladesh today.

He pointed out with pride that the Father of the Nation dreamed of a modern Air Force and with the aim of realizing his dream, the present government is working tirelessly to make the Bangladesh Air Force stronger and more up-to-date.

According to the ‘Forces Goal-2030’, the latest aircraft and equipment are being added to the Air Force.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University has been established under the foresight and direction of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Government, through which the Bangladesh Air Force is able to overhaul combat aircraft using its own manpower, technology and technical skills.

He also said that due to the world-class training of the Air Force Academy, cadets from various friendly countries of the world are undergoing training in this academy which is exemplary. Finally he wished success to the newly commissioned officers and thanked all the members of Bangladesh Air Force Academy.

A total of 37 officer cadets including 7 female officer cadets and 1 Palestinian officer cadet received commission through this parade. Officer Cadet Academy Under Officer Abrar Fayaz Khan led the ceremonial parade. At the end of the parade, an interesting flypast involving various types of aircraft of the Air Force Academy was held.

Among others present were Members of Parliament, high ranking military and civilian officials, diplomats from foreign missions, local dignitaries and parents of newly commissioned officers.
