The Crime Desk: So far, 10 people have died in six districts due to the devastating cyclone Remal. Among the victims, two died on Sunday (May 26), and eight died today (May 27). Among them, there are three in Patuakhali, two each in Bhola and Barisal, and one each in Satkhira, Chittagong, and Comilla.
According to the information provided by the representatives, an old man named Shaukat Moral died on his way to the shelter in the Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira on Sunday evening. In the afternoon of the same day in the Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali, while protecting the sister from the flooded area due to the cyclone. One named Shariful Islam died.
Apart from this, two people died when the wall of a multi-story building collapsed in the Rupatali area of Barisal City early on Monday (May 27). The deceased were Lokman and Mokchedul.
A woman named Maneja Khatun died after a tin house collapsed in Bhola in the gusty winds. She is the wife of Abdul Quader, a resident of Char Umed village in Lalmohan upazila. A child named Maisha (4) died after being crushed by a falling tree in Daulatkhan, in the same district. Maisha Daulatkhan Municipality, Ward No. 2, is the daughter of Monir Hossain.
A pedestrian named Saiful Islam Hriday died when he was hit by a wall in the textile area of Bayezid police station in Chittagong city.
Three people died in Patuakhali due to Cyclone Remal. Among them, an old man named Joynal Howladar (70) died in Dumki upazila of the district. He is a resident of Ward No. 9 Naldwani Sluisgate area of the Pangasi Union of Upazila. An office collapsed in front of the Upazila parish gate in Baufal district. A pedestrian named Abdul Karim (60) died.
Meanwhile, Cyclone Remal weakened into a deep depression. However, many houses and shops have been destroyed by the cyclone. Many areas have been cut off.
Apart from this, the lower areas of various districts of the country have been flooded. Cattle, fish pens, and crop fields were swept away by the flood. Communication has been cut off due to fallen trees on roads in various areas.
