City Reporter: Due to the adverse weather conditions due to Cyclone Remal, flights will be suspended for 8 hours at the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong. This was confirmed by the director of the airport, Group Captain Taslim Ahmed.
He said, “Sunday (May 26) from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the airport will be closed.”
Meanwhile, on Sunday (May 26) morning, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said in a special notification that Cyclone Remal has become stronger and has become a severe cyclone. It is approaching the Khulna and Barisal coasts of Bangladesh.
The severe cyclone is located less than 300 km from the coast of Bangladesh. For this reason, the Meteorological Department has asked Mongla and Payra seaports to show distress signal number 10 and Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar seaports to show distress signal number 9.
