Satkhira Correspondent: Two paddy harvesters were killed when the truck fell into the ditch after losing control at the lock of Satkhira. At least 10 other workers were injured in this incident. The accident took place in the Harishchandrakati area of Satkhira’s Tala-Paikgacha road in the early hours of Saturday (May 18). Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tala Police Station Mominul Islam confirmed this information.
The deceased were Saidul Islam (38) son of Taleb Gazi of Baga village of Koira upazila in Khulna and Monirul Islam (30) son of Tofazzal Sardar of Madarbaria village of the same upazila.
Injured laborer Zahidul Islam said that they went to Gopalganj to cut paddy. After work, he was returning home by truck with the rice he got as remuneration. On the way, the truck overturned after reaching the Harishchandrakati area. Two people were killed on the spot after being buried under the sack of rice. Besides, at least 10 people were injured in this incident.
