Grenade and rocket cells recovered from Arsar’s hideout, arrest 2

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: RAB conducted an adventurous raid on Arsa’s hideout at Lal Pahar, adjacent to Ukhia Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar. One of the main coordinators and commanders of Arsa in Bangladesh participated in this operation conducted in the early hours of Wednesday. Shahnoor Prakash Master Salim and two Arsa terrorists have been arrested. During this time, a large number of weapons, grenades, and rocket cells were recovered.

Commander Arafat Islam, director of RAB’s law and media wing, gave a press briefing on the operation. He said that Arsa became weak due to RAB’s continuous operations. So they are trying to re-energize. As a part of this, RAB got information that many members of ARSA were sent from Myanmar to Rohingya camps. Their aim is to sabotage the camps. In view of this information, RAB-15 starts the operation and learns that Master Salim is currently leading as the head of ARSA in Bangladesh. Under his leadership, Arsa is creating terror in Rohingya camps by carrying out various criminal activities, including re-killing and looting arms and ammunition from Myanmar. After learning about the matter, raids were conducted on Arsa’s hideout at Lal Pahar, adjacent to the Rohingya camp in Ukhia. RAB said about the information found in the initial interrogation of the arrested two, Md. Shahnur Prakash Master Salim entered Bangladesh from Myanmar in 2017 and started living in camp number 15. While in Myanmar, he was assigned the duty of Zone Commander there. Also, Arsa chief Ataullah Abu Ammar served as Jununi’s bodyguard for two months. Maulvi rejoined Arsa through Akiz after arriving in Bangladesh as a Rohingya refugee in 2017. Arsa became involved in various crimes, including murders, kidnappings, extortions, and conflicts of dominance. As the leadership of Arsa in Bangladesh became vacant recently, Salim took over as the chief coordinator of Arsa in Bangladesh. Weapons and ammunition looted from the conflict in Myanmar are collected from various sources and cause terror in the Rohingya camps. Due to this, the Rohingya camps are again dominated by fights, clashes, and killings. There are multiple cases against him for various crimes, including three murder cases. In addition, Md. Maulvi Md. in Riaz 2018. He joined the Arsa through Ibrahim and initially served as a watchman for the Arsa. He received training in various subjects, including making mines, bombs, hand grenades, and explosives, in Myanmar.

RAB-15 captain Lt. Colonel HM Sajjad Hossain said the recovered bomb was defused by the bomb disposal unit of the Bangladesh Army.
