Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: RAB raided the hideout of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, or Arsa, a separatist armed organization of Myanmar, in Gaheen Hill, adjacent to the Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar. At this time, two members of ARSA were arrested with a large quantity of weapons, grenades, and rocket shells from Astana.
The operation was conducted from Tuesday midnight to Wednesday (May 15) morning in Ukhia’s Gohin Lal Pahar. RAB-15 captain Lt. Col. HM Sajjad Hossain confirmed the matter.
He said that for quite some time, Rohingyas, including the head of the Rohingya camp, have been shot and killed by throat-slitting. In view of this, RAB increased intelligence activities in the camp. Following this, based on specific information, the hideout of Myanmar’s terrorist organization Arsa was identified in Gohin Hill near Ukhiyar camp.
Sajjad Hossain said the operation started at 2 a.m. on Tuesday. At that time, the terrorists sensed the presence of the RAB and started firing. RAB also fired back. Two terrorists have been arrested in Astana. In addition, a large quantity of weapons, grenades, and rocket cells have been recovered.
