Nagar Reporter: ACC conducted an operation based on the complaint of embezzlement by selling iron scrap worth Tk 7 crores for only Tk 1 crore 21 lakhs in Chittagong Port’s warehouse branch. Yesterday, an enforcement team from the Integrated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Chittagong-1, conducted the operation.
On review of the records collected during the operation, it is seen that although the tender process has been completed, the goods have not been supplied to the contractor. In addition, the enforcement team has found preliminary evidence of the complaint in 5 lots of iron scrap and other goods sale papers and records, a stock registrar, a movement registrar, and stocked goods in 5 lots of the warehouse branch of the port. According to ACC sources, the enforcement team will submit a detailed report to the Commission regarding the measurement of the weight of the goods related to the complaint.
