NAGAR REPORTER: The ship MV Abdullah arrived in the country on Monday (May 13), almost a month after being freed from pirates. At 6 p.m. today, the cargo ship was anchored at Qutubdia. The ship’s 23 sailors are scheduled to return home on Tuesday (May 14) after completing all procedures.
Captain Mohammad Abdur Rashid, the master of the MV Abdullah ship, told the media that the ship was anchored in the port waters at Qutubdia on Monday. All sailors are healthy. After the formalities, we hope to reach Chittagong port jetty by small ship on Tuesday.
Earlier on March 12, this ship owned by KSRM Group was hijacked by Somali pirates from the Indian Ocean. Then the ship was freed on the night of April 13 with a ransom. Then the ship first arrived at Al-Hamriya port in the emirate. After discharging the goods there, the ship loaded limestone from another port and left for Chittagong. After 13 days, the ship reached the waters of Bangladesh.
