Habiganj Correspondent: The main accused in the three murder cases, Badrul Alam alias Badi, supervisor of the CNG-run autorickshaw stand, has been arrested by the police in Agua village of Baniachang, Habiganj.
He was arrested from Nurpur village in Brahmanbaria’s Nasirnagar upazila around 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.
The arrested is the son of deceased Haji Hira Mia of Badrul Alam, alias Badik Agua village. Habiganj Additional Superintendent of Police Palash Ranjan Dey confirmed the matter in a press conference at Baniachong police station in the afternoon.
In the press conference, Additional Superintendent of Police Palash Ranjan De said that Badrul Alam was arrested under Section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the mentioned place and time under the leadership of Inspector (Investigation) of Baniachong Police Station, Mohammad Abu Hanif. After arresting him, the police recovered seven sticks, five sticks, a ramada, and 22 pieces of bricks from a strip near the scene.
It is known that on May 9, there was an argument and fight between the autorickshaw driver Kadir Mia and the stand manager Badrul Alam. As a result, both sides clashed with indigenous weapons. Kadir Mia, Siraj Mia, and Lilu Mia of Agua village were killed in this. Along with that, more than half a hundred people were injured. The police fired two tear gas shells and five rubber bullets to bring the situation under control.
Baniachong police station, OC Mohammad Delwar Hossain said that Badrul Alam, alias Badi, has been sent to jail through the court. No case has been filed yet in the case of three murders. If there is a case, Badrul will be arrested in that case.
