Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman was the chief guest. He said the river is getting polluted and narrowed due to encroachment pollution. The salinity has gone as far as Halda. Due to this, the city dwellers will not get water. There will be no water in the tube wells of Village Mofswal. Even if the water rises, it will be salty. Moreover, to keep the economy of the country running, the flow of Karnaphuli should be kept normal. We will take all measures to remove illegal structures to protect Karnaphuli.
