Dhaka Bureau: If Awami League leaders and activists are not in the field, BNP will carry out terrorist activities in the name of rally. Their past history says so. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said this in a joint meeting held at the Awami League’s central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Friday (May 10) afternoon.
This joint meeting was held with the leaders of Awami League along with the President-General Secretaries of Dhaka Metropolitan North-South and Dhaka District Awami League and all affiliated organizations.
Obaidul Quader said, “BNP rally means arson, chaos and bloodshed.” If we leave the entire capital to BNP, there will be a problem in protecting people’s lives and property. That’s why we have to be in the field. “There is no counter-argument, Awami League has to be in the field for the protection of the people. From assembly to terror, anarchy is the politics of BNP. So we have to be vigilant. BNP will raise its cover and harm the state and lives when it gets a chance.
He said that BNP does not participate in elections because it is afraid of voters. There is no justification for their demands regarding elections. After the failure of the movement and election, BNP is again creating chaos and terror in the country in the name of movement. Everyone should be careful about it. Those who can politicize the treatment of party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, they can do many things against the country.
Stating that there is a conspiracy about the upazila elections, he said, everyone should be careful. We will not engage in any conflict.
During the period of BNP, which local elections have been peaceful, without any kind of casualty? Obaidul Quader said that the first phase of this year’s upazila election was completed peacefully, there was no conflict. Credit should be given to the government and the Election Commission.
General Secretary of Awami League said that the votes that are being read this time, I will not say that the votes are very good, but they are fair. In this election many of the party participated in the election by rejecting BNP’s vote boycott. No one listens to anyone in the group. BNP stuck in the quicksand of mistakes and failures will not be able to achieve anything. Even though their faces are full of flowers, they are disappointed inside. Until they return to positive politics, they will remain marginalized.
Obaidul Quader said that BNP leader Gayeshwar said that Awami League is surviving by pleasing the neighboring countries and not the people of the country. India is our neighbor tested friend. They did not interfere during the election. Not by making India happy, but by people’s power. Not at the mercy of India. After seventy-five years, I was not in power, then did India put us in power?
