Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chittagong City Unit organized and Chittagong City Youth Red Crescent in collaboration with Chittagong City Youth Red Crescent today Wednesday (May 08) on the occasion of World Red Cross/Red Crescent Day in the discussion meeting to launch the blood donation program in the speech of the Chief Guest. Today, World Red Cross/Red Crescent Day is observed in Chittagong through various programs. On the occasion of the day, peace rally, blood donation program, distribution of food to the children’s ward of Chittagong Medical College Hospital, wall exhibition was organized by the initiative of school-college unit.
A rally was also organized with the participation of 1000 youth volunteers from various schools and colleges. The rally starts from the Press Club, goes around Cheragipahar Junction via Jalamkhan and ends at the Press Club.
Bangladesh Television Chittagong Region General Manager Noor Anwar Hossain spoke as a special guest under the chairmanship of Chittagong City Crescent Unit Vice Chairman Alamgir Parvez.
Secretary of City Red Crescent Abdul Jabbar, City Executive Council member HM Salauddin addressed the meeting.
