Bandarban Correspondent: Three people were injured in another land mine explosion at the Naikshyongchari border in Bandarban. It is reported that one of the injured had his legs amputated in the blast.
The incident took place on Sunday morning (May 5) in Pillar No. 47 area of Fultali border of the upazila. The injured were rescued and admitted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
The injured are Ramu Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. Rafiq, Gorznia area, Md. Abdullah, and Rashid Ahmed of Kachhpia area. Of them, Mohammad Abdullah’s two legs have been severed.
It is reported that two Bangladeshis were injured in a mine explosion in the same area on Saturday night. All of them illegally infiltrated and brought cattle from across the border. There, they were injured by the explosion of mines planted by the Arakan Army and the army of that country.
Nurul Afsar Emon, UP Chairman of Naikshyongchari Sadar Union, said that the locals rescued the injured and admitted them to Cox’s Bazar Hospital. BGB security has been strengthened at the border.
When 11 BGB commander Lt. Col. Sahl Ahmed Noble was called in this regard, he did not receive.
