Dhaka Bureau: Minister of State for Culture Nahid Izahar Khan MP said, Martyr Janani Jahanara Imam is a shining example of the sacrifice of women in our freedom war. His sacrifice in the war of liberation is the highest. We must remember the sacrifice, history, and ideals of him and his family. It should be presented to the new generation.
He said this in the President’s speech at the Shaheed Janani Jahanara Imam Memorial Museum handover ceremony at the Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatun Necha Mujib Auditorium of Shahbag National Museum in the capital on Saturday. In the speech of the chief guest, the Minister of Liberation War said that the writings of Shaheed Janani Jahanara Imam were inspired. Especially when the Jatak Dalal Nirmul Committee movement was going on, it was Jahanara Imam who led from the front to re-establish the spirit of freedom fighters against the rise of war criminals. The minister paid deep respect to Jahanara Imam for this great sacrifice on behalf of the nation.
The state minister also said that many of the current generation do not know how strong the role of Jahanara Imam is for the country. This responsibility must be taken collectively by the people of the country. This can be the only way to show respect and love to him. The state minister expressed his determination to work for the purpose of spreading the history of Shaheed Janani outside the country.
