Habiganj Correspondent: Five people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a private car in Madhavpur, Habiganj.
The accident happened on Wednesday morning (May 1) around 1.30 am in the area called Haritala on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway of the upazila.
Madhavpur Police Station OC Rakibul Islam Khan confirmed this information.
He said that the private car with a person and others returned from abroad left Dhaka at night. On reaching the place called Haritala around 1.30 am, there was a head-on collision with a Dhaka-bound truck. The private car was overturned.
He also said that the bodies of five people, including a woman, were recovered from the private car. Their names are not yet known. The bodies have been kept at the Habiganj Sadar Hospital morgue. Two cars involved in the accident have been impounded.
