Banskhali correspondent: In Banskhali, the attack of a wild elephant. A teenager named Sibagatullah Rizbi (16) has died. On Wednesday, May 1, at 3 o’clock in the night, the teenager died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Litchubagan, adjacent to Godar Par, No. 1, Ward No. 4, Bailchari Union. The deceased Kishore is the son of Taiyab Ullah, who died in the Kulin Para area of Bailchari Union.
According to local and family sources, Rizvi has been working in a grocery shop in the Nuinna Pukur Par area of Ward No. 3 East-Bailchhari for the past few months. On the day of the incident, at around 2 o’clock in the night, when the elephant was reported to have arrived in Lichubagan, he was seriously injured in the attack. Later, the locals rescued him and admitted him to Banshkhali Gunagri Mother-Child and General Hospital. If the condition was critical, he was rushed to Chittagong Medical Hospital, where he died.
Bailchari UP chairman. Kapil Uddin said that an elephant entered the Lichu Bagan in the eastern Bailchari hilly area at around two o’clock in the night. When he heard the news of the arrival of the elephant, he tried to chase it in his garden and fell in front of it, unable to see in the dark. The elephant lifted Rizvi by its trunk and threw it away.
Banskhali police station SI Mong Thoai Hla Chakma confirmed the truth of the incident. He said, “The body has been handed over to his family without an autopsy.”
