Dhaka Bureau: Due to the ongoing heatwave, the High Court has ordered the closure of all primary and secondary schools and madrasas in the country until next Thursday. Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel reacted angrily to the order of the High Court to keep educational institutions closed. He also said that he would take the order of the High Court to the Appellate Division.

He said a kind of mentality is being created to close educational institutions across the country. Why do you have to bring the court’s direction to the Ministry of Education in everything?

He said this to reporters after a program at the Science Complex in Agargaon in the capital on Monday (April 29).

The Education Minister said that there is no reason to close educational institutions in districts where the temperature is low.

Regarding keeping primary schools open, the minister said that it is not a lack of coordination between the two ministries. They kept it open as there was no risk during the period when the primary classes ended.

Regarding the question about teachers and students getting sick, he said, it is also a matter to see whether those who got sick were in the educational institution or elsewhere.
