Dhaka Bureau: President Md. Abdul Hamid left Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport on Qatar Airways VVIP Flight QR-639 at 3:20 PM on Saturday for a 16-day visit to Germany and the UK for health check-up and eye treatment.
At the airport, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, Head of Diplomatic Corps and Moroccan Ambassador to Bangladesh Majid Halim, British High Commissioner Robert Chatterton Dickson, German Ambassador Achim Troester, Chiefs of the three armed forces, Foreign Secretary, Cabinet Division Secretary (Coordination and Reforms and Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The President will undergo a health check-up at a hospital in Germany and an eye test at an eye hospital in London.
The President is expected to return home on November 13.
