The Crime Desk: Freed from the hands of Somali pirates with a ransom, the ship ‘MV Abdullah’ has reached the waters of the United Arab Emirates. The ship was confirmed to have entered the country’s territorial waters on Saturday (April 20) evening.

The vessel is scheduled to arrive at the outer anchorage of the Emirate’s Al-Hamriya port via the Fujairah coast and the Strait of Hormuz by 4 p.m. on Sunday (April 21).

In this regard, Mehrul Karim, Chief Executive Officer of KSRM Group, said that the ship will be moored at the jetty for coal discharge on Monday, the day after arriving at the outer anchorage of Al-Hamria Port on Sunday afternoon. From there, two sailors will return home by plane. The remaining 21 sailors will return to the country on the ship ‘MV Abdullah’. It may take approximately 25–26 days for them to return home.

It should be noted that on March 12, MV Abdullah was captured by Somali pirates along with 23 sailors in the Indian Ocean on its way from Mozambique to the United Arab Emirates. The KSRM Group ship was released on April 13 after being held hostage for about 32 days.
