Dhaka Bureau: The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education have announced a 7-day holiday for all schools and colleges, considering the health and safety of students amid the ongoing heat wave. It has been informed about the decision to close these educational institutions until April 27.
On Saturday, April 20, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education said that all government primary schools, schools of the Shishu Kalyan Trust, and learning centers of the non-formal education bureau will be closed until April 27. At the same time, sources from the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education reported this information.
Heat waves are flowing in different parts of the country. As the day progressed, the intensity of heat increased. People’s lives have been disrupted due to intense heat. The Meteorological Department issued a heat alert for three days on Friday, fearing that the heat wave sweeping over the country will further increase the heat. In such a situation, the educational institution was supposed to open tomorrow on Sunday.
However, there is a demand from the parents to close the educational institutions until the ongoing heatwave is normal. Many demanded to bring forward the summer vacation in educational institutions. However, considering the health of the students in the summer, it was decided to extend the holiday in the educational institution.
